Apply for Beamtime

SEND IN A PROPOSAL

The first step in getting beamtime is to log in to the ALS Hub. If you aren’t already registered as an ALS user, you will be asked to do so. Once you’ve logged in to the ALS Hub, select View and Submit Proposals, and then select Submit or View Your RAPIDD Proposals, and finally New RAPIDD Proposal. For the proposal type, choose Structural Biology RAPIDD Access. When asked which beamline, choose ALS-ENABLE. You will also be asked to submit a one-page description of your crystal systems. Proposals are reviewed and ranked, and if accepted, we will be in touch to schedule your beamtime.

OPTIONS FOR MX COLLECTION

When you are submitting a proposal, one of the options is Collaborative Crystallography. If you click on YES for this option, your proposal will be reviewed as usual, and if accepted, will be routed to our Collaborative Crystallography program. In this case, one of our scientists will be in touch to make plans to efficiently collect and analyze your data.
